I don't know why but the second I put a book down and try to tell someone about it, every single memory is completely wiped. I love reading and fully immersing myself in a story. Apparently too fully, because these books have left my brain entirely. ...

thriller
you'll never know what's going to happen next
I'm pretty sure this one involves a podcast? Maybe a true crime podcast investigating something that happened to the main character? Whatever it is, I gave it 5 stars so past me was clearly eating it up.
Listen for the Lie: A Novel
I remember she lived in the attic — or possibly a very small room — and something was very very wrong with the family she worked for. it's a thriller so you can guess how that goes. apparently I loved it.
The Housemaid
something about sisters, something dark, something that kept me reading. Karin Slaughter doesn't miss and my 5 stars proves it even if the details don't.
Pretty Girls
novels
mostly contemporary novels
I remember this being genuinely thought-provoking and giving me a huge appreciation for women — specifically women in a certain era or profession, I think. the feeling it left me with stuck around even after the plot didn't.
The Women: A Novel
a group of women, a murder, a lot of secrets — that's about all I've got. Liane Moriarty is one of the best at this kind of story and I apparently agreed.
Big Little Lies
they meet on November 9th and only see each other once a year on that same day — that much I remember. the concept alone is so good. Colleen Hoover doing what Colleen Hoover does.
November 9: A Novel
a glamorous old Hollywood actress, seven marriages, and a lot of secrets. this one is iconic for a reason and I remember FEELING things even if I can't tell you the specific plot points anymore.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
romance
I'm sure these were great
couldn't tell you one single thing about this except it's probably a sports romance and must have been steamy because I gave it 5 stars without hesitation. I trust my past self completely.
The Graham Effect
judging purely by the cover: smutty workplace romance. judging by my 5 star rating: definitely correct.
Mr. Big Shot
Abby Jimenez AND a summer romance AND apparently not just fluff — I remember appreciating that it had some depth to it. that's a win on all counts.
Just for the Summer
I don't remember one single thing about this book. not one. I just know I loved it. Emily Henry wrote it so that tracks.
Funny Story
I remember kicking my feet during the texting scenes because they were SO cute. who is the book about and what happened? couldn't tell ya. but the texting was adorable.
Mr. Wrong Number
I loved the characters. I don't remember their names or what they did or how it ended but I loved them. that's the review.
The True Love Experiment
a hockey player and an ice skater sharing a rink — that much stuck with me. the rest did not. Hannah Grace wrote it and it was clearly a vibe.
Icebreaker
I couldn't think of one single thing about this one and yet: 5 stars. I trust my past self and so should you.
The Stopover
I think two people help each other navigate dating and then obviously fall for each other in the process? the wager-between-friends trope is so fun when it's done right.
The Love Wager
was one of these people dead? I think so? and it was still romantic somehow? whatever was happening I was fully on board with it.
The Dead Romantics
childhood friends to lovers at a lake and it is my FAVORITE. this one I actually remember bits of and it is so good — the summer nostalgia hits different.
Every Summer After
the guy was definitely younger and I'm pretty sure that was a whole thing. age gap romance done well, apparently.
Part of Your World
something about science, something about a fake dating situation in academia, something that I enjoyed very much. I can't remember how it ends but I know I liked getting there.
The Love Hypothesis
I cannot remember how this ends and it's killing me a little because I remember the setup being so emotionally interesting. read it and tell me what happens.
One True Loves: A Novel
not even one memory. the cover is pretty though. 5 stars, would apparently recommend.
One Day in December
This was the first book I read when I got back into reading — so it holds a special place even if the details have evaporated. it clearly did its job.
Love and Other Words
two friends, a trip, feelings — the Emily Henry classic. I remember the general energy of it being warm and funny and making me want to travel.
People We Meet on Vacation
I'm pretty sure I cried. maybe. the vibe of this one stuck around even when the plot didn't — it felt emotional in the best way.
Swear on This Life
a road trip, strangers or near-strangers, and I think they might have hated each other at first. carrying someone's ashes on a trip is such a premise.
Mrs. Nash's Ashes
There was science involved and I think a work collaboration and definitely some enemies-to-lovers tension. Ali Hazelwood knows her lane and it's a good lane.
Love on the Brain
I think it's about an author and a publisher ending up in a small town together — the reverse of every small-town romance trope done on purpose. very Emily Henry.
Book Lovers
I think the guy made a bet with his friends about the girl — the classic setup. based on my rating it paid off.
Betting on You
I don't remember a single thing but it looks like a thriller and my 5 stars don't lie. past me clearly had a great time with this one.
