How to spend a Weekend in Luray, Virginia

Purple Star emoji 20 items
Luray is a quiet town nestled in the outskirts of the Shenandoah National Park. I've been here many times since childhood and I always find something new and exciting when I visit. These are my favorite spots to visit or take people to.

Luray caverns is one of the most well-known spots in Luray (the other being its proximity to Shenandoah National Park). I have been here numerous times and its a great experience everytime. The caverns are spectacular.

Your ticket to the cavern also includes admission to the toy museum, car and carriage museum, and heritage village. You have the choice of a self-guided museum or tour guide (extra cost).

A bit of trivia, tours of the caverns have been going on since the 1800s!

The Page Theater is not your average small-town theater as it showcases fantastic decor on the inside. One of the former owners spent a lot of time decorating the inside theaters (one I know offhand has Egyptian theater and I included a photo of it)....

My family stayed here for a week once when we were younger and I still have fond memories of it. There's a ton to do, from the water park to fishing, an arcade and an outdoor movie theater.

You can't visit Luray and not visit Shenandoah National Park. It is huge and full of beautiful natural wonder. Visitors can expect to find cabins and camp grounds to stay at, over 500 miles of hiking trails, opportunities for fishing and much more.

This is a decent asian restaurant (and the closest one around) with options from Korea, Japan and Thailand. I can recommend their red curry stir fry (though its a bit spicy!)
