Sometimes, you just want a good fantasy book without it turning into a romance novel. These are some of my favorites with very little smut.
If you like Norse mythology and epic fantasy don’t sleep on this
The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne, Paperback
The second book in the Bloodsworn trilogy. Leaves you hanging!
The Hunger of the Gods by John Gwynne, Paperback
The third and final book of the Bloodsworn trilogy. The ending, chef’s kiss brilliant.
The Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne, Paperback
Napoleonic wars but with dragons! Couldn’t put it down.
His Majesty's Dragon (Temeraire Series #1) by Naomi Novik, Paperback
Pirates, fae, what more can you ask for? Devoured this one.
The Ever King by LJ Andrews | eBook
I wish I could go back and read this again for the first time. A twist on the little mermaid story.
A Ship of Bones and Teeth by Karina Halle, Paperback
Quick and easy read. Gets a little steamy towards the end but it’s manageable.
Rhapsodic (The Bargainer #1) by Laura Thalassa, Paperback
Ok, this one is well known but I think it needs more hype. Its so whimsical and fun. Another one I wish I could read again for the first time.
The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst, Paperback
A twist on the little red ridding hood story. Definitely different!
For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten, Paperback
Russian folklore plays a big part in this book. Beautifully written and impossible to put down.
The Bear and the Nightingale (Winternight Trilogy #1)
I couldn’t put this down. The twist at the end had me picking my jaw up from the floor. There are a couple of spicy scenes towards the end but thankfully they don’t overtake the plot.
