Motion Sickness
If you’re worried about the motion of the ocean, here are some solid staples to have to keep your worries in check.
This would be my first choice, before anything else. It kicks in fast but ensure you read the instructions. We applied the whenever we were still and had a good experience.
Motion Sickness Patch, Non Drowsy
Well known, but not my go-to. It’s good to bring just in case (especially on your first cruise), but don’t mix with alcohol.
Non-Drowsy - Dramamine
Not the first thought for motion sickness. However, swelling if common on a ship and this can help with the inflammation.
Ibuprofen Tablets
These are great *if you put them on correctly. Watch a tutorial to get the best use.
Sea-Bands
Stateroom
Staterooms are small! Anything you can do to make up space matters.
Cruise walls are magnetic! And hanging space is spare. These help create more room by being able to hang purses, bathing suits, towels etc.
Magnetic Hooks
Laundry bags create more space for the room (and make packing at the end easyyy). These are my favorite. They have lasted several trips.
Travel Laundry Bag
It's important you get one that is NON-surge protected. I have used this one on several trips and it's never been confiscated.
Non-surge Protected Outlet Extender
So helpful for saving space in the bathroom! The bathrooms are typically tight space unless you have a suite. This helps keep everything out of the way but easy to reach.
Hanging Toiletry Bag
The stateroom is smalllll. If you have a roommate, they'll thank you for taking this along.
Travel Poo-Pourri Before-You-Go
The rooms are cleaned well, but they are cleaned fast. This helps with an extra layer of protection.
Sanitizer Travel Wipes
Fun additions (not a necessity)
These are items that you may see on other “necessities” lists or items that I bring to make my trip more fun.
Most fun door magnets! If you don't want to order several magnets or spend time decorating your door. These are easy to put up and other guests/stateroom attendants love them!
Magnetic Letter Tiles
Hiding (or finding) ducks is a cruise tradition. If you want to make your trip more fun, I'd recommend.
Rubber Ducks
This is NOT a necessity, staples can work fine! However it does provide more security and is re-usable if you plan on cruising more than once.
Cruise Luggage Tag Holders
I used this as my night stand fan. I like white noise and air at night so this replaces that well.
Handheld Mini Fan
Having a deck of cards is an easy way to entertain on a sea day. There are plenty of places to play a game and having a waterproof pack makes it easy to play by the pool.

Out and About
If you plan on lounging on a sea day - these come in handy. It can get VERY windy and if you move or get up, that towel is leaving too. I like these more than towel clips.
Towel Bands
Don't forget the beach bag! If I see one thing most often, it's people forgetting an extra bag. A mesh or see-through option has been better in my experience for customs and security.
Mesh Tote Bag
This portable is my favorite one I've had. The battery lasts a while and has saved me several times around the ship or on the islands.
Portable Charger
While there is laundry access available, it comes at a fee. This comes in handy if there are any spills to hold you over until you get home.
Tide Stain Remover Pen
If you're forgetful like me, these are almost as important as the sunscreen itself. The stickers are a helpful reminder to reapply. Remember, you're in the middle of the ocean half the time, the sun is HOT.
UV Sun Protection Reminder Stickers
Sunscreen gets extra expensive on board and on ports. This is my go-to.
Light-Weight Water Resistant Sunscreen
These are my favorite for wearing around the pool deck and out on the port. They dry fast because they're a rubber material. Sand quickly falls off.
Waterproof Sandals
I have this in 3 colors… Hands down favorite travel bag. It holds the necessities (phone, cards, cash, chapstick etc.) and I never travel without.
