Living the rural life has some perks. Central NY has a bunch of hidden gems from the great outdoors to restaurants and These are some of my favorite places I've hiked, camped and biked through.

The Great Outdoors
Some of the magical spots to hike, camp and bike in central, NY
A lake that looks like you're in the Caribbean in central NY - it's wild (and gorgeous!)
Green Lakes State Park
This is such a cool spot in the summer. Bring a chair and stick it right in the water to chill on a hot day.
Canajoharie Falls
A great place for a bike ride that spans a huge portion of the state.
Cycle the Erie Canalway Trail
One of the best falls in the Ithaca area. Home to the tallest waterfall east of the Rockies!
Taughannock Falls State Park
Another great state park in the Ithaca area. The gorge trail is short but worthwhile.
Buttermilk Falls State Park
Do the rim + gorge trail for a great hike and views!
Robert H. Treman State Park
Right on lake Otsego with a great beach, disc golf, hiking trails and the oldest covered bridge in America.
Glimmerglass State Park
Breweries & Cider
There are no shortage of breweries and cider houses in central NY - here are some of my favorites.
Don't miss their fire pit Fridays in the summer months. Great taproom with good food.
Brewery Ommegang
Go for the beer, but don't miss their burgers.
Council Rock Brewery
Good cider and a fun experience, especially in the fall.
Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard
GET THE PIZZA! 🍕
Tree House Brewing - Saratoga Springs
The Oneonta location is a fun vibe and the taco place that's attached has some great eats.
Muddy River Farm Brewery
Good vibe if you can avoid the baseball crowds. Plenty of beers and cider on tap from local places.
Upstate Bar and Grill
This place is a destination. Huge grounds with gorgeous outdoor scenery to enjoy a 1911 cider. They also put on a great summer concert series.
Beak & Skiff Apple Hill Campus / 1911 Tasting Room
