Doesn’t have to be a tent, but a shade of some kind is a must for beach days unless you only plan to be there early morning or late evening.

Fave flip flops, but any kind will do! The soft sand gets hot so wear something when walking to the car.

Beach Towels - Target
Unless you want to lay on your towel, you need a beach chair. Also if you want to sit by the water and have your feet in the waves, you need a chair. If you sit on the sand you will end up with half the beach in your bathing suit.

If you’re packing for more than one person, a bigger cool is a must

I’m not in the phase of life where I need this, but you may want to consider a wagon of some kind, unless you plan to drive and park on the beach.
Beach Carts : Beach Chairs & Gear - Target
For extra sun protection, consider a rash guard. Just know this is supposed to be fitted so it doesn’t move around while you’re in the water. Pay attention to sizing to find a fit you like.

My go to sunscreen. It does leave a white cast and you need to reapply, but it works well for me whether in or out of the water.
