The fantasy I read HAS to check very specific boxes and all of these do! I don't find these cheesy, or too tropey. The writing is great, the plot is amazing, the worlds are very fleshed out!
Not only one of the best fantasy I've ever read but also one of the best books I've ever read. I consider this a masterpiece of storytelling. I was nauseous. I sobbed. I couldn't put this monster of a book down!
Our Share of Night: A Novel
So unique. The sub plot romance is DELECTABLE! I love this series so much. The prose is so lyrical. It's perfect.
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
I wish all fantasy books were written as well as this is written! This series is a big commitment but well worth your time! It's a slow burn but each book gets better and better!
Assassin's Apprentice (Farseer Trilogy, #1) by Robin Hobb
The banter. The BANTER! Soooo good!!
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
I read this as teen and then again as an adult and let me say it still holds up. There are so many layers. The love triangle is the best I ever read. It's perfect. These characters live with me always.
Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare
One of the only books that had me laughing out loud. Like hilariously funny. So cozy. So heartwarming. So whimsical.
The House in the Cerulean Sea (Cerulean Chronicles, #1) by T.J. Klune
Madeline Miller my queen! Circe is a boss. Such beautiful writing.
Circe by Madeline Miller
Need I say anything? This book is a masterpiece. Gut wrenching. Beautiful. Haunting.
