🌟Sensory tolerance and bucket time! 🌟 Today, I demonstrated a simple yet effective way to begin building a child’s sensory tolerance level using the attention bucket approach. This strategy is supported by a “now and next” method, which helps children clearly understand what activity is happening now and what will happen next. By providing this visual and structured routine, children feel more secure and can gradually develop stronger attention and comprehension skills. To start, I introduced a sensory play activity with flour, allowing the child to watch me scoop and pour before having a turn themselves. This hands-on activity not only encourages imitation but also builds confidence in engaging with different sensory textures. Following this, we moved on to a fun bucket activity, designed to support impulse control, attention skills, and focus. These types of structured sensory play sessions are excellent for helping children increase tolerance, regulate emotions, and develop the foundations for future learning.
