Leaving Positano we took the ferry to Naples (and then the train to Rome to fly back down CA).

I highly recommend taking the high speed Trenitalia train from Rome to Naples/ Naples to Rome. You can buy tickets ahead of time or at the station. Pro tip - watch the boards at the station for updates! Not the app!

We had an early morning flight out of Rome back to CA, so we stayed at the Hilton that was attached to the airport. No cars required, just walked over with our bags.
