With construction dating to 1357, if you’re in Prague, you gotta do it. Its appeal is timeless, and yes, it’s true-they used eggs to keep it together.
Charles Bridge
Old Town Square is gorgeous! Unlike most central and eastern European cities whose old towns were destroyed during the World Wars, Prague's Old Town is authentic with a bit of loving refurbishment since the days of communist Czechoslovakia.
Old Town Square
More of a neighborhood on the Prague Castle side of the Charles Bridge, Malostrana is an adorable little place to shop around and feel like you’re in a fairy tale.
Lesser Town in Prague | Malá Strana
Come for the world's oldest astronomical clock, stay for the hourly show of the Apostles and a skeleton.
Prague Astronomical Clock
Prague Castle is the oldest medieval castle. And it was left relatively unscathed by World War II, which makes it a very special place. It gets very crowded, so plan ahead. But with so much history and beauty, Prague Castle is still an attraction you...
Prague Castle
Gorgeous gardens right by the Prague castle, and not as many tourists. A definite recommendation.
Waldstein Garden
Prague's Jewish Quarter is home to the oldest continuously active synagogue in Europe. Definitely spend the low admission cost to see the extent of this beautiful corner of Prague and Jewish history. While I found the Kosher food here underwhelming, ...
Prague Jewish Quarter
One of the most beautiful spots in Prague! The galerie is absolutely stunning and I really enjoyed taking the time to learn about the fortress' history. Oh, and the prices are cheaper than Old Town, too.
Vyšehrad
Another one of my favorite Prague views, especially for a warm evening. Also, explore the beautiful Letna Park. It is home to a cool biergarten, too!
Prague Metronome
I highly recommend reading up on this church's history during WWII. I actually used to run by it every day and wonder what the holes were. Towards the end of my semester, I learned about Operation Anthropoid, which took place here. There's a small mu...
Cathedral Church of Sts Cyril and Methodius
Known as the “Beauty and the Beast library,” it is absolutely gorgeous. Go in, and the surrounding area has some great cheap beer.
Strahov Library
Restaurants
Albert Einstein came here. And you would think it’s expensive and the food overrated, right? No! Great food, great prices, great location! I would come here for lunch to have their soup and bread.
Café Louvre
The place to go to if you want the traditional Czech experience. Buy the beer, buy the food, and enjoy the experience of Czech cuisine!
U Medvídků
A well known restaurant in Prague, make sure you try the hot chocolate.
Café Savoy
A local favorite with great Czech cuisine. And at an affordable price, too!
U Kroka
Rotating menu every day with some twist on Czech food. Another lunch favorite, and affordable, too.
U Semika Restaurant: Pictures & Reviews
My favorite cafe ever. I loved it so much, I got a laptop sticker. They have great coffee and yummy, authentic Czech desserts.
KAVÁRNA ČEKÁRNA, Prague - Praha 2
Dude. There's a train. The train delivers beer to your table.
Výtopna Railway Restaurant
Bars and Nightlife
Probably the coolest bar I've ever been to. It's underground and super cool. There was live music and all these cool rooms and even dogs!!! It's a place you can only see to believe.
Vzorkovna Bar
This place is super cool, and you can get a sample for 5 beers at a reasonable cost. They have everything from Belgian berry beers to small local Czech beers that I really recommend trying. Inspired by American beer culture but still very Czech.
BeerGeek Bar
A cocktail bar where you tell them what you like and they come back with a wonderful concoction. The atmosphere is very fun and it is also not touristy.
Parlour
I'm a sucker for Lucerna because I love dancing to 80s and 90s music. What a club.
Lucerna Music Bar
A bar and club with a 100+ year history. I met people from all over the world here!
