Spring brings new blooms and gorgeous gardens! One of my favorite things to do in the spring is visit the different gardens NC has to offer. This list includes some of my favorites.

Tryon Palace in the spring is my favorite! The gardens are filled with tulips and lots of other spring flowers! The weather in New Bern is enjoyable this time of year as well. Take a stroll around the town while you’re here!

The airlie gardens are some of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen! Something about that Spanish moss that gets me. The weather in Wilmington is still mild in the spring so it’s a great time to enjoy the town as well!

The Elizabethan gardens are probably my favorite. They are GORGEOUS and there is tons of history here as they’re within a historic site! OBX in the spring is dreamy as well. Make a weekend trip out of this visit!

The mountains of NC! Gardens to visit on your way to the mountainous part of the state.
This garden is absolutely gorgeous! It’s so peaceful, full of different gardens, and has plenty of walking trails as well!
Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden - Belmont
I’ve never been to these gardens before but they look gorgeous! They have many different gardens, a greenhouse, and a sensory garden in remembrance of a UNC student.
UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens - Charlotte
25 minutes from Asheville! This isn’t really a garden per se but it’s a beautiful spot! This bridge has all different flowers planted around it. Pet friendly!
Lake Lure Flowering Bridge - Lake Lure
The mountains in the spring are always a good idea! Visiting the arboretum is a great way to support the tourism in Asheville as WNC is still recovering. There are acres of gardens and tons of trails to explore as well!

Raleigh and surrounding areas! Gardens to check out if you’re headed to the states capital.
The arboretum is actually a part of 4 different gardens in Greensboro. They’re all gorgeous but located in different parts of the city. Admission is free.
Greensboro Arboretum - Greensboro
The Duke Gardens are absolutely beautiful! They’re a must see if you’re in NC in the spring. 55 acres of all different gardenscapes. Free entry but you may need to pay for parking!
Sarah P. Duke Gardens - Durham
My favorite thing about this garden is that it’s a conservation garden with many plants native to NC! There are walking trails within the garden and leashed pets are allowed too!
North Carolina Botanical Garden - Chapel Hill
A gorgeous 80 acre garden that is close to downtown Fayetteville! Admission is $12.
Cape Fear Botanical Garden - Fayetteville
Gorgeous gardens in Raleigh that are right behind WRAL. Admission is free and this garden is close enough to the arboretum that you can visit both!
WRAL Gardens - Raleigh
If you’re in Raleigh this is definitely a spot to check out! Free admission and the gardens are beautiful!
JC Raulston Arboretum - Raleigh
A must see if you love roses! This garden is gorgeous!! Free admission and pet friendly.
