I was sleeping under a plain grey comforter like some kind of peasant. Swapping the bedding alone changed my whole room overnight, and my friends genuinely asked if I redecorated.

My walls were bare and my nightstand had a phone charger and a water bottle on it. Adding gold accents was the fastest way to make my room feel like someone with taste actually lives here.

I had those thin white curtains that let in every streetlight and made my room look like a waiting room. Switching to heavier drapes was the single biggest upgrade for the royalcore look.

Overhead lighting is the enemy of royalcore. I turned off my ceiling fan light, added a few warm sources around the room, and suddenly everything looked like a scene from a period drama.

Bare walls are the number one thing that kept my room from looking finished. Adding even two or three pieces of wall art made it feel like a real room instead of somewhere I just happened to sleep.

These are the small details that took my room from looking like I tried to looking like it all just naturally came together. Every royalcore room needs a few weird little extras that make people pause and look twice.
