This book… I am truly in love with Neal Shusterman's mind. He is a fantastic writer and understands the nuance of humanity as one could. What I love about this book is how the author can take such huge, nuanced concepts about life, passion, death, morality, etc., and breaks them down enough for even the simplest of us to understand. This book provokes thought. It provokes introspection. It is truly not talked about enough. It is a book I believe I will reread many times throughout my life. I cannot stress enough how amazing an author Neal is. The intentionality he puts into every single detail can leave the reader finding a new layer each time it's read.
Scythe (Arc of a Scythe) by Neal Shusterman
Red Rising jump-started my love for epic sagas. It was one of the first books I read in the genre and I could not stop. Although the language and writing style took me a bit longer to get into, I find that the best books I've read required significant focus at the beginning. This focus is partly due to the depth of the world-building and characters surrounding the story. Once I was in, I was fully immersed. Golden Son was even better and I have not read many series where the sequel not only efficiently enhanced onto the original storyline, but was EVEN BETTER. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
Red Rising Saga #1 - Pierce Brown
I have only read the first book of this trilogy. Even so, Mistborn alone is phenomenal. It can continue as a series (as it was intended), but in my opinion was also fine as a standalone for those who may not want to read more. Like Red Rising, the book was hard for me to understand at first because there is so much going on. But it is all necessary!! Brandon Sanderson is amazing at world-building and doing something completely different from what I have previously witnessed. I am excited to read the rest of the series.
THE MISTBORN® SAGA - THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY
This was gut wrenching. I have never nervously paced my room because of a book a day in my life. But that is what this book did to me. I have held off of reading the next book, not because it isn't absolutely spectacular.. but because I need to emotionally prepare for the suspense and thrill that is reading the Red Rising series. Full of war, loss, revenge, love, heartbreak, betrayal, politics, and power. All the components for the sci-fi/dystopian read of a lifetime.
Golden Son (Red Rising Series) - Books
This book crushed me. Suzanne Collins.. you have done it yet again. I really cannot love this author more. Her characters, her writing, her wisdom, her knowledge, her irony, her foreshadowing, her insight, her storytelling.. everything is perfect. This will be reread forever and ever.

THIS BOOK. God has used this book to transform my life. To break out of the comfort that kept me complacent and to set out on the quest for a life well lived. I am extremely grateful for Eugene Peterson's wisdom, which has resulted in freedom from self-imposed limits and idleness. This book will always have a place in my library.

Talk about someone who is seemingly ordinary, but so extraordinary in the same breath. James Clear is incredibly intelligent. A quality many can appreciate, but more than that, I appreciate the intellectuals who can explain it to the vast majority. He can explain heavy concepts and break them down into bite sized pieces for the everyday Joe. It is a blessing to be someone who can unite people to abstract thought and to be a teacher is not appreciated enough. This book has helped me establish great habits that have actually stuck! This book was a timely read and I found it when I needed it. I will be forever grateful for the wisdom bestowed upon James Clear.
