Back in high school, I used to HATE running. I associated running with conditioning for sports and would always dread mile runs at school. If you told me that years later, I would go and run 3 miles for fun, I’d laugh.
As I approach my thirties, I found that running is so therapeutic and the best stress relief. After a long work day, I’ll go for a run to clear my mind. I’m not going for a fast time or for a certain distance, I just go how long I want to go. I work in corporate America, my desk is in a cubicle where one window shows some sunlight throughout the day. After I get off of work and step outside for my run, the air resets my mind. It’s such a natural feeling that I have become addicted to. Again, this is coming from someone who resented running with a passion years ago. But now, this is my favorite hobby & my go-to activity.
Running helps me to stay healthy and is a great way to destress after a long work day. My goal is to be able to run a half marathon by the end of the year! Since I just started, I thought I’d share some of my essentials for running!
