Make your life easier and invest in good quality scissors from the jump. Pro tip: never use your fabric scissors on paper (or anything other than fabric!) or you will dull your blades.
Fiskars Ultra Lilac Scissors
Just like your scissors, invest in a good quality rotary cutter from the start and save yourself a ton of heartache. You'll use this to cut out fabric, and makes it so much easier to make round cuts.

You'll need a mat to use your rotary cutter on. No need to invest in anything too expensive here, just needs to get the job done.

By far one of my best sewing purchases. You'll use this magnetic tool to attach to the plate next to your needle on the sewing machine to ensure you are sewing a straight line - it really changed the game for me.

Sewing involves quite a bit of pressing your seams. If you don't own an ironing board, this is a great alternative.

You'll need a great ruler to ensure you are cutting a straight line. This is a tool you will use every time you sew.

You will need an iron for most projects, to press your seams. A mini craft iron makes it easy and accessible.

This Hera marker will be your best friend if you are interested in quilting. It leaves an indentation on your fabric that helps with straight lines when quilting.
