Of course the Julia Donaldson books must feature on this list. We love them all but I will recommend our absolute favourites. For me it has to be Room on the Broom…a great story for creating character voices!

Love this story…especially the dog part! My two kids have enjoyed this story over and over…plus it’s a little bit Christmassy so we read it extra often in the winter!
Stick Man - Julia Donaldson
These stories are simple, easy to read and offer a strong lesson in loving all animals and generally being kind! Each one is not too long, and the illustrations are lovely. They just made me feel good!
