Forget the tourist traps—this is LA through the eyes of someone who actually lives here. Consider this your go-to guide for exploring LA like a native
Map
If you've never been to Santa Monica Pier, you could go (however, I truly consider it a tourist trap). Instead I recommend viewing Santa Monica from above, at The Penthouse restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation beforehand
The Penthouse
It's free and it's beautiful. The perfect combo. Also close to Malibu if you're in that area
The Getty Villa
Not to be confused with the Getty Villa. But also free and beautiful. Just be sure to get tickets beforehand because they do sell out especially on the weekends
The Getty
Free! And has beautiful views of LA. If you're driving here, the key is to park at the bottom and take the shuttle to the top. Bonus: You can hike the Hollywood Sign from here
Griffith Observatory

Free Jazz Concerts at the LACMA museum. Honestly you can skip the museum and just go to the concert. Get there early because it gets crowded! Many people bring blankets, chair, etc. Get comfy and enjoy the music (:
Jazz at LACMA
Definitely check out movie nights at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery- the resting place of many Hollywood legends. Bring snacks!
Hollywood Forever Cemetery
Theres something magical about watching a classic movie on a rooftop in LA
Rooftop Cinema Club
Ya'll please keep this spot top secret! It's a beautiful speakeasy wine bar
The Cellar-A Wine Library
I love this neighborhood in LA! Walk around, enjoy the atmosphere and the food!

If you love music I recommend getting tickets to see the LA Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. HOWEVER tickets can be expensive so if you can't catch a show still come here! They have free self-guided tours and a BEAUTIFUL rooftop garden. ...
Walt Disney Concert Hall
Yeah, yeah, I know it's technically not in LA BUT if you want to see a nice beach you have to get out of LA. I said what I said. Laguna Beach is a perfect day trip if you want to see a clean, beautiful beach and a quaint artsy town
Laguna Beach
Kazunori is a chain so there are a few of them around LA. If you like sushi rolls/handrolls, it's a must try
KazuNori
THE DREAMIST, PRETTIEST restaurant. The food is good, but nothing spectacular. This place is all vibes.
Bacari Silverlake
If you're a true foodie, you need to come here. Not going to lie, the line is typically 30minutes-1 hour. But it does have a Michelin star! It's in a very unassuming place located in an eatery with other food stands. But the food is amazing.
Holbox
It's a fun activity. I recommend doing it at night when the LA lights look the best
