The accommodation where I stayed. It's 20 minutes away from the city centre by tram. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and the neighbourhood is nice and quiet.
Godi Fiorenza Suite
Lovely cosy decor, but the dishes I ordered are bland.
Trattoria Antico Fattore
A cafe that serves pastries and vegan gelato. I had dark chocolate and coconut stracciatella, which was yummy (the chocolate is DARK dark)
Cortese Cafè
It's like a medieval stationary and novelty shop, full of fountain quill pens and leather notebooks.
Signum Florence
A popular art gallery that showcases the best Italian Renaissance art, from Botticelli to da Vinci. You have to book a time slot in advance.
The Uffizi
I recommend watching an opera in a church at the end of a long day.
Italian Opera Florence in Santa Monaca Church
A bell tower with 414 steps. It's a tough climb for the unfit, but there are three stops to take a breather. You get a stunning view of the city and the dome cathedral (not as popular as the dome, but the better option imo). You have to book a time s...
Giotto's Bell Tower
A classy cafe in the piazza where you can order random finger cakes and coffee.
Caffe Scudieri
It's a small museum with early instruments to study science, astronomy and mathematics. You get a discount if you've booked the Firenze Card.
Museo Galileo
It's good Tuscan food. The paccheri with rabbit sauce is especially nice.
Trattoria la Casalinga
As part of the Pitti Palace, there is a large beautiful garden with lots of statues, quaint sitting spots and the coolest man-made grotto.
Boboli Gardens
Another great vegan gelato shop in Florence. It has an interesting range of refreshing flavours. The Sicilian lemon sorbet is my favourite!
Edoardo Il Gelato Biologico
It's a museum I think kids would like. You can interact with some of da Vinci's prototypes and play mini games.
Leonardo Interactive Museum
One of the Medici's palaces. Every room is full of incredible Renaissance art.
Palazzo Medici Riccardi
It's a branch cafe in Florence that serves healthy juices, smoothies and pastries.
Shake Café Firenze
A monastery turned art gallery. It has beautiful fresco and cloister paintings.
Museum of San Marco
Make sure you book a ticket in advance. The queue to get inside is insanely long. People would queue up two hours before opening. If you wear sleeveless tops and shorts you won't be allowed in.
Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore
A crypt inside the cathedral. Make sure you book a ticket in advance. It has beautiful Roman mosaics and the foundations of an ancient cathedral.
Santa Reparata
The fun-looking stripy building inspired by the Roman Pantheon has gorgeous ceiling mosaics. Like the cathedral, make sure you book a ticket in advance and wear modest clothing.
Baptistery of San Giovanni
The town hall of Florence has government room meetings as well as a museum with yet more gorgeous Renaissance art.
Palazzo Vecchio
One of my favourite restaurants. Their generous Florentine steak for €42 is juicy and tender.
La Buchetta Food & Wine Restaurant
One of the Medici palaces. It has a few museums inside, from Renaissance costumes to modern art. My favourite room is painted wall to ceiling with angels and pillars and heavenly clouds.
Pitti Palace
One of the best sandwich shops in Florence. They are enormous with fresh ingredients. I had the Fiorenza with cured ham, pecorino and truffle sauce.
