I went to Stockholm for five days. It's jam-packed with interesting museums and expensive restaurants.
Map
One of the more affordable and nicer hostels in Stockholm.
Lilla Brunn
A lovely branch cafe with delicious breakfast and brunch menus. I had a yummy açai smoothie bowl.
Pom & Flora
The residence of the Swedish royal family. It has beautiful artwork and medals, lots and lots of medals.
The Royal Palace
The museum is under the Royal Palace. It contains the crown jewels.
Museum Tre Kronor
The pink cathedral of Stockholm. It has incredible statues and carvings, including the St. George statue.
Storkyrkan
One of the more popular cafes in the city. Its walls and ceilings are covered in graffiti and written messages. Their sandwiches are delicious and you get a fresh orange on the side.
Café Schweizer
Another museum part of the Royal Palace which shows King Gustav III's impressive antique collection.
Gustav III:s antikmuseum
A museum that chronicles the life of Alfred Nobel and the items dedicated to all of the Nobel Prize winners.
Nobel Prize Museum
A beautiful art gallery. It has a nice outdoor spot to sit with beautiful marble statues.
National Museum
A Swedish restaurant with great vibes. I had meatballs there.
Nytorget 6
This is hands down a must-see museum in Stockholm. The intact war galley ship is magnificent. The museum is chock full of fascinating information about the ship design, the sinking, the passengers and Sweden's history at the time.
The Vasa Museum
A museum all about the vikings. It has a ride at the end where you follow an immersive Viking story. I highly recommend its restaurant - it has the best Skagen shrimp.
The Viking Museum
I didn't go to any of the exhibitions (it looks like they're designed for children) but it's worth checking out its gorgeous exterior and the Vasa statue.
Nordiska Museet
A museum all about the drinking culture with a bar. You get a free can of Absolut Vodka along with your ticket.
Museum of Spirits
Absolutely divine, rich courses. I recommend the ox cheek with truffle mash for the main course, and madeleines with caramel whipped cream for dessert.
Cuisine de Rolf
This museum chronicles the DJ Avicii's life, his best hits and has some karaoke booths to sing along to his songs. It's worth checking out if you're a fan.
Avicii Experience
Stockholm's theme park. It's got some fun rides, most on the tame side. Insane is one of the most thrilling rides, so it's my fav. You have to order your ticket online. I recommend getting a pass instead of buying an entry for each ride.
Gröna Lund
A cafe right next door to the ABBA Museum. It has lovely outdoor seating. It's a self-serve cafe where you can choose multiple pastries/sandwiches as well as main courses.
Blå Porten
A museum all about the pop group ABBA. You have to book a time slot in advance.
ABBA The Museum
This serves yummy dishes that rival Italian restaurants. I recommend the cacio e pepe.
Cafe Nizza
A food market hall where you can buy produce as well as dine in gourmet restaurants/cafes. All on the pricey side.
Östermalms Saluhall
A nice little cafe with a calm atmosphere.
Bageriet Kringlan Östermalm
The oldest open air museum and zoo in Stockholm. It shows life in Sweden before the industrial era with shops that you can actually buy items from.
Skansen
A cute cafe inside Skansen with yummy pastries and lunch dishes. The outdoor seating is lovely but be mindful of the birds, they snatched a good portion of my quiche.
Café Petissan
This is companion museum to the Vasa museum, you get a discount on the tickets if you buy the combo. It exhibits all of the wrecks and maritime archeology.
Vrak - Hylkymuseo
This has a great selection of photographs and media. The main highlight is a colourful exhibition from Toiletpaper.
Fotografiska Stockholm
The smallest monument in Sweden, it's located in Gamla stan. People toss coins to make a wish and rub the boy's head for good luck.
The Iron Boy Järnpojke
A nice pub with hearty Swedish food. If you go on the Ghost Walking Tour and select a three-course meal deal, this is the place where you go to.
Restaurang Movitz
This museum covers Swedish archaeology and cultural history from the ancient period to present day.
