Soft Pastel Stick Sets
These are some rather large sets of excellent quality soft pastel sticks that I've found to be extremely cost effective! They are all brands loved and recommended by many professional pastel artists, including myself! 👩🏽🎨🎨
This Sennelier pastel set is phenomenal value for the number of half sticks! It has a wide variety of colours and values too.
Sennelier Soft Pastels Half Stick Set 120
I love Art Spectrum pastels. This set of 40 half sticks is surprisingly good value and contains mostly lightfast pigment options across a range of values!
Art Spectrum Soft Pastel Half Stick Pastel Tin Set 40
Rembrandt has some of the darkest darks around! This set of half sticks are fantastic for supplementing a range of darks that other brands and sets don't seem to be able to match!
Rembrandt Soft Pastel Micro Set, 10-Piece Dark Shades
I love these Art Spectrum sets for creating dynamic highlights, particularly in seascapes! This is the warm tones set.
Being extra soft, they are easy to deposit colour on the top layer of your work, with minimal pressure, even when the paper tooth...

These are all the most highly used and recommended pastel pencil sets by myself and many other professional pastel artists.

The full set of the most versatile and popular pastel pencils available. If you could only have one brand forever- this would be my #1 choice!
STABILO CarbOthello Chalk-Pastel Pencil 60pc
Smaller set of the most popular pastel pencils- although I always recommend the biggest set you can afford so you have the most colour options available.
STABILO CarbOthello Chalk-Pastel Pencils 24
This is a beautiful set and is quite different from the Stabillo Carbothello in texture, as well as having many unique colour variations.
These are a slightly harder pencil and are fantastic for getting very fine details and holding a sharp point.

Pan pastel sets
Pan Pastels are amazing for laying down very thin base layers, covering large areas of paper with colour quickly, as well as doing whole paintings in painterly impressionistic style strokes with the "sofft" sponges and tools. They have this glowing t...
This is the set of 20 of the most versatile "pure" colours- (pure means no black or white mixed into the colours to make tints or shades).
It is more expensive per pan than some of the other pan sets, but you can use the black and white to mix all ...
PanPastel Artist Pastels by GOLDEN, 20 Color Set
This is the 20 pack of "Tints" - meaning each one is a "pure colour" mixed with white, to get these lightest value colours. I ADORE the tints, especially for my skies as well as dynamic highlights.
Learning to use coloured highlights instead of just...
PanPastel Artist Pastels by GOLDEN, 20 Color Set
This is the 20 pack of "shades" - which means each of them is a pure colour with a little black added, to give a darker value.
PanPastel Artist Pastels by GOLDEN, 20 Colors
This is the set of 20 extra-darks, which are 20 pure colours mixed with a larger amount of black than the "shades" set, to achieve the darkest values.
Don't underestimate the power of darks to make your lights and brights really pop! You can absolu...
PanPastel Artist Pastels by GOLDEN, 20 Colors
This landscape set of 20 is just really good value per pan included! Check out the colours first to see if they are what you like or that you don't already have most of the colours from other sets. It has a great range of colours across the values, i...
PanPastel Artist Pastels Landscape Set 20
These colours are unrepresented in some of the other sets and contain some of the colours from their new releases! I got this in addition to all of the other sets 👩🏽🎨🤭💕
PanPastel Artist Pastels Bright Warm Set 5
I love this set as it is such good value for so many greens! It seems to be the cheapest price for 10 pans out of all the various sets, and not all the colours are in the other sets. 👩🏽🎨🎨💕
PanPastel Artist Pastels Greens Set, 10 Color
This is a set of 6 of the metallics, if you love a pop of shimmer but don't want the whole metallics/pearl range. I started with these and they don't disappoint! 👩🏽🎨🎨💕
PanPastel Artist Pastels Metallic Set, 6 Colors
There are multiple different seascape sets of Pan Pastels on Amazon, but I only found this particular set at theartshop.com.au so far.
It has my favourite colour selection with those beautiful blue-greens, that weren't all present in the other sets...
