Music that feels like it was made to be listened to in the cooler months. (Disclaimer: I work in music but thoughts are all my own - I just love a good belting album 😌)
Â
The most autumn/winter album there ever was. Theres a warmth and journey to it that makes me want to road trip through the mountains.
Noah Kahan - 'Stick Season'
Â
So soft, so atmospheric and eerie - In the absolute best way.
Wasia Project - 'how can I pretend?'
Â
The depth and warmth of Joy's voice was made for listening out loud on an Autumn evening.
Joy Crookes - 'Skin'
Â
2010s era Tumblr revival! There's so much nostalgia and an intangible warm feeling around their first album.
The 1975 - 'The 1975'
Â
Even the album cover screams Autumn/Winter. I love love Lewis Capaldi, this album as well as his single 'Rush' and all his pre 2018 releases infact are perfect for this time of year.
Lewis Capaldi - 'Divinely Uninspired'
Â
The soft jazzness of this soundtrack has stayed with me long after my memory of the film itself. Sets the perfect ambience. Don't start me on the Audition song…
La La Land Soundtrack
Â
This album feels transitional. Either from Summer to Autumn or Winter to Spring. There's movement and a soothing quality to it.
Frank Ocean - 'Channel Orange'
Â
Another one that needs to be played aloud on vinyl whilst you spin around slowly with a mug of coffee.
Griff – 'One Foot in Front of the Other'
Â
Moral of the story here is I love singer songwriters and RnB. Cats voice is so warm.
Cat Burns - 'Early Twenties'
Â
Messy is the song of the moment but there are so many fantastic songs on this album. It was made for a late night drive through empty streets and puddles! 'You noticed' is one of my favourites.
Lola Young - 'This Wasn't Meant For You'
Â
Another gorgeous voice. Another album for the list. 'So My Darling - Acoustic'? Never has a song made me want to fall in love more.
Rachel Chinouriri - 'What a Devastating Turn of Events'
Â
Everyday I search for a vinyl of this. One of my all time favourite albums, start to finish.
FINNEAS – 'Blood Harmony'
Â
There's a coming of age, a tender emotion to this album that feels like the start of a new school year. Absolutely love 'erase me', 'reckless driving' and ofcourse 'ceilings'.
Lizzy McAlpine - 'Five Seconds Flat'
Â
Honestly phenomenal. The artistry, the craft and the care in this album, the visuals, the story behind it all.
Nemahsis - 'Verbathim'
Â
'Will We Talk?' will always be a banger to me. There's a frosty ness (in a good way) that makes me feel like it was made for November/December.
Sam Fender - 'Hypersonic Missiles'
Â
Debbie and Victor on a song is like warm butter on toast! I just adore Victors voice so deeply. (Yes, I gave him two…their EPs so really this is one)
