1. How gorgeous are these covers? I learn't so much from this book, and it was written in such a smooth, lyrical and inviting way.
This Thread of Gold: A Celebration of Black Womanhood ...
I feel like I talk about this a lot, I actually haven't finished it yet but was immediately hit with how hard it resonates. For young people craving more assertiveness this is the one…
A woman in your own right
A 5 star read! Gently rallying. Essential for everyone.
I Am Not Your Negro
I adored both book and series. I have since read all of Adam Kay's subsequent releases. He has a great voice (both in how he writes and reads the audiobooks!), you'll laugh and you'll genuinely despair.
This Is Going to Hurt
This is actually my favourite of Adam Kay's books so it gets its own space.
Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas
This was delicious and devastating. A mother daughter relationship is so special and so nuanced. I'd definitely recommend listening to the author read the audiobook. I felt the loss so intimately.
Crying in H Mart
Another fantastic memoir, enhanced by the author reading it themselves. I loved Jeanette before and love her even more now. This is not an easy thing to share but will help so many others.
I'm Glad My Mom Died
TBR...
Very interested to learn about the different ways Misogyny shows up in our modern society and feel a little better equipped (with knowledge) in how to tackle it.
Men Who Hate Women
'How to thrive when the world overwhelms you'…same.
The Highly Sensitive Person
I have wanted to get into the Abolition movement for a while now. This felt like a good starting place.
Abolition. Feminism. Now.
A memoir written by someone with experience of OCD - sign me up.
Mad Girl
I definitely feel like Chronic Illness is a missing spot in knowledge for me. Have been looking forward to this for a while.
Poor Little Sick Girls: A Love Letter
I am yet to hear ONE bad thing about this memoir!
How to Say Babylon: A Memoir
The mothers behind some of histories most influential men! What a powerful book. Cannot wait to read.
