The movies I return to again and again — groundbreaking sci-fi that still holds up decades later, the Broken Lizard comedies I can quote end to end, and satires that get funnier (and more accurate) every year.

Sci-Fi That Still Holds Up
The rare blockbuster that's actually a masterpiece. Effects still hold up 30+ years later.
Jurassic Park (1993)
The gold standard for action sequels. Bigger in every way without losing the heart.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Broken Lizard
The most quotable comedy of its era. The 'meow' game alone earns it a spot.
Super Troopers (2001)
More of the same idiots, and I mean that as praise.
Super Troopers 2 (2018)
The gang's all here for round three.
Super Troopers 3
Their most underrated. Michael Clarke Duncan as the terrifying owner is perfect.
The Slammin' Salmon (2009)
Absurdist Comedy & Satire
The most accurate restaurant movie ever made — as a former cook I can confirm the kitchen chaos is documentary-level.
Waiting
Trey Parker and Matt Stone doing live-action sports absurdity. Dumber and funnier than it has any right to be.
BASEketball (1998)
Started as comedy, increasingly feels like documentary.
Watch, Rent, or Buy Idiocracy at Home + Online - Vudu
An actually great musical. Sharper satire than most prestige dramas.
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
Early Trey Parker deep cut. Completely unhinged and way funnier than it should be.
