I participated in local vendor markets over the past years. It's easy to get carried away buying displays, signs, and stands, but here I list out the most practical items that I've found useful from my markets. Not all items are essential, but are op...
Square is a popular payment system for small businesses. It's affordable, super portable and easy to use. With the app, you can also process payments with just your phone now, but I like to have this physical option in case.
Square Reader 2nd Gen | Card & NFC Reader
Any tablecloth can work, but this beige one has been a great one to contrast with my bright coloured items (crochet and prints). It's large enough for booth tables and placing risers underneath. You can also easily pack this up.
XWZO Faux Linen Tablecloth 54x80 Inch Beige
For smaller items, like toys, candles, and jewelry, these risers are very popular to use. It's engaging for customers to look at all the products, everything is in view.
Gonice 4 Tier Wood Display Riser Stand
Depending on your brand style, you can use these crates to display your items. I have them in beige and pink, and use them to hold items, or I flip them over to use as a riser. I like that these are foldable so you can pack them away flat too.
Xhwykzz 4 Pack Folding Plastic Baskets
I use these to professionally display pricing or QR codes that link to my instagram and/or shop website. I like these better that other displays because they are simple and protects your signs in transit.
Acrylic Sign Holder 8.5x11, 2 Pack Clear
I always bring a USB or battery charged lamp, incase the venue lighting isn't bright enough. I learned this the hard way one time, the vendor next to me brought nice, soft lighting which encouraged customers to come and view their booth.
YUNJAYI Kids LED Night Light with Remote
I own this and use it all the time, not just for markets. Great for moving items without the bulk or large size of a wagon. You can place more items on top of the lid as well.
BBTEQEKN Foldable Utility Cart with Wheels
For larger, sturdier risers, you can use these IKEA crates. I've used them on it's side, to act as a shelf to display my work in the crate and also on top. I've also placed these crates under my tablecloth so the display is simpler and cleaner.
KNAGGLIG Box - pine 46x31x25 cm (18x12 ¼x9 ¾ ")
I own multiple storage boxes like this to store my handmade items and display items. It's durable and holds a lot, and also makes it easy to set up and take down at markets.
SOCKERBIT Box with lid - white 38x51x30 cm (15x20x11 ¾ ")
These have been extremely popular to use for markets, since they can be clipped onto displays, and the other end can hold signs, prices, business logos, etc. Super versatile to use.
Mlici 20 Pcs Double Sided Sign Clips
Packaging for your products. I like using these kraft paper bags, because my art items were small. I can also easily stamp or print my logo on the bag, for a branded design.
Kraft Paper Flat Merchandise Bags 100 Pack
Depending on the products you're selling, these stands are useful to hold business cards, prints or paintings. I use them to hold business cards and larger prints. I like the clear design so the focus remains on my product.
6 pcs Clear Acrylic Book Stand Set Easel
This is another lighting option that I've seen other vendors use. I prefer the ambient lighting, however these are extremely helpful to highlight key products or parts of a booth display.
Glocusent 5W Clip on 36LED Reading Light
Very practical and sturdy if you want to build up your booth to display prints and items at a higher height. The grid makes it easy to clip and attach products and signs as well.
Amazon Basics 6-Cube Wire Grid Shelves
Easy and affordable way to package your items after a purchase.
