I fear we’ve just touched the surface of this incredible world and I am excited to see more of it. The world-building is phenomenal! 👏👏 The daeyari, the evil ruling creatures of this world, are like a mashup of the fae, vampires, and black cats who...
Voidwalker by S. A. Maclean
This may be my new favorite take on Snow White, especially given that it doesn’t even focus on that titular character. Instead we get a story about Anja, a healer and poisons expert, who is conscripted by the king to save his daughter who keeps falli...
Hemlock & Silver a book by T. Kingfisher
This was the perfect ending to this series and I am so sad that there is nothing more to read in this world. Although this is the end, it was a very satisfying conclusion. The humor that I have come to love from Thorne’s writing, was as present as ev...
Alchemy and a Cup of Tea
I am so glad that this is only book 2 of 3 because I think I may have liked this even more than the first one and as threads of the plot grow and come together each book I can see how masterful Caruso is at weaving a plot together. The love between R...
The Last Soul Among Wolves
Regan was such a fantastic character and the hooflands are a fascinating land that appears to have so much more to explore. McGuire remains the best at creating these new worlds that are so lively and even when we only see part of the world, we can f...
Across the Green Grass Fields
I did really enjoy this book - from the world and its gods to the strange and brutal nature of the House of the Beast to the friendship and growing relationship between Alma and her monster. However, I think I had my expectations too high with how sa...
House of the Beast (Standard Edition): A Novel
The perfect second installment for the series. I love this dark and strange world and I felt like we got to dive deeper into the relationships between Shan, Isaac, and Sammuel and between Shan and the Eternal King. This is a very character-focused st...
Lord of Ruin by K. M. Enright
This is a must read release for August 2025! Fire wielding nuns, a world full of dark history, lore and gods, and complex characters with interesting paths to love make this one hell of a story.
I love that there are two POVs (Sephre and Yeneris) tha...
House of Dusk
This book has the best of romance and fantasy elements brought together in rivals-to-lovers fantasy academia story that is sure to be a hit with fans of Raasch’s Royals and Romance series and especially fans of Dungeons & Dragons that love their ...
The Entanglement of Rival Wizards
Horror
I love how wild and bonkers this story is and how while all of the weird stuff is happening, the main character is dealing with existential dread because her profession as a professor of statistics seems to have gone out the window as probabilities n...
Lucky Day
This is for the freaks (complimentary).

Sci-Fi
This was so incredible in many different ways. First of all this futuristic dystopian does not feel all that far off with it being set in 2050 and the fact that events of today are certainly leading us to a climate disaster as seen in this world. Sec...
Artificial Wisdom: A Novel
I laughed. I cried.
A lot of people died.
The characters that are featured in this book react very realistically to fighting a war as none of them truly set out to fight during their lives and despite being 75 years old are very new to all of it. H...
Old Man's War
The introduction for the newest edition of this book makes everything make a bit more sense as to why this book was written in the way it was. It still was very jarring going from following John Perry’s story in Old Man’s War to a completely differen...
The Ghost Brigades: An Old Man's War Novel
Murderbot is developing so nicely in this one. A very spectacular character comes back in this and the interactions between that character and Murderbot are everythingggg. The snark, humor, charm that we’ve come to love from Murderbot are here still ...
Network Effect: A Murderbot Novel
This one recaptured the magic of Old Man’s War. The humor and wit was back as we returned to John Perry’s story. However, there was also so much more to this story and some parts felt very relevant to today’s current events.
“When you control commun...
