Best for the youngest readers or those who are learning to read!
One of the best ever books for very young audiences!!! I loved this book when I was younger. The pictures are entrancing and the story is very silly (about a caterpillar who eats too much!).
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
A very fun book for the youngest readers to help learn the alphabet! I believe there's also a song version that goes along with it that you can find on YouTube!
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
A great book for very early readers (or those who are learning to read!). It's very interactive, with lots of things to touch, scratch, and smell! Best for the youngest audiences. The style is very cute.
Pat the Bunny (Deluxe Edition)
Children
Amazing book if you like pasta! A cautionary tale about being greedy (and eating too much spagetti!).
Strega Nona
This story really resonated with me when I was younger. It's about the importance of genuine friendship and being cautious with how much of yourself you give to others. It has an absolutely beautiful shimmering effect on the fish's scales!
The Rainbow Fish
A HILARIOUS book that will make anyone laugh. It inspired a whole series of other books featuring the pigeon (The Pigeon Needs a Bath, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Sleigh, Will the Pigeon Graduate, & more!).
Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!
A fun and tactile book that can really keep kids engaged! The book encourages you to touch it and interact with each page so you feel like you're causing what happens next!

I adore the style of this book! It's very funny with a deadpan style of humor. One bear asks a ton of animals if they've seen his missing hat, and gets really funny answers! I believe it turned into a series.
I Want My Hat Back
A funny (and relatable) book about giving a mouse a cookie… but then he keeps asking for more! I really loved this book when I was younger, and I believe it inspired a series!
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie
Another in the ‘If you give a…’ series! Since I loved it so much when I was younger, I owned a few books in the series, and loved all of them! The moose is super cute.
If You Give a Moose a Muffin
One more personal fave from the ‘If you give a…’ series! I believe there are more on the Barnes & Noble website that I never read. I loved this book when I was at the age of going to school! It inspired many daydreams about keeping a mouse in my ...
If You Take a Mouse to School
This is a powerful but VERY sad book. It has an important lesson about giving too much of yourself to the ones you love, but it can be a tough read if you're very sensitive! It is very beautiful, though, and a good thing to learn.
The Giving Tree
This is a really tender book that left a big impression on me. It shows how your family's love is with you wherever you go, and can start a great family tradition to ease children's fear of being alone!
The Kissing Hand
A very cute and silly book about monkeys getting into trouble when they stay up too late and jump on the bed! The art is really cute in this one.
Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
A very silly book about cows that learn to type and leave messages all over the farm!
Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type
I will not deny, I was a little frightened when I was younger that this would happen to me! When a young girl tries to ignore what she actually likes to fit in, she ends out standing out even more by having colorful pattens displayed on her skin! It'...
A Bad Case of Stripes
Older Children
Bigger or longer books! You can use your own discretion about if your child can read them at any age!
A book with some classic fairy tales turned on their head! There's quite a few stories in here, like the Stinky Cheese Man, The Really Ugly Duckling, Chicken Licken, and more!
The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales
I believe this is a slightly newer release of a collection I had in my childhood! I LOVED this book. Keep in mind it is HUGE. Over 400 pages. My book was incredibly ragged and beat up from how much I read it. Curious George is an awesome character to...
