I'm back with a new book edit! I'm so grateful that my Empowering Reads for Badass Women list has been resonating with some of you! People always come to me for fashion advice, but I love reading, and getting to share what interests me book-wise is such a treat. This list doesn't have the same defined categories as the last one, but you'll still find sharp essays, unique memoirs, and works of fiction that explore identity, otherness, feminism, and history. Oh, and a little something extra.

Everybody makes mistakes but these were criminal.

Get yourself to Newfoundland. Seriously. You won't regret it. I went on a whim last year, solo, and before I knew it, I was planning my return. "Why Newfoundland?" people asked. Why not? Some of the best experiences happen off the beaten path, and you don't have to fly to Europe to feel like you've discovered somewhere completely new. I've planned an unforgettable 48 hours in St. John's for you, packed with incredible food, stunning scenery, and a few local gems.

Tipping my hat to some of my favorite Canadian brands, most of them female-owned.

I used to be so hard on my skin, overwashing, over-scrubbing, the whole thing. It’s funny how, as I’ve gotten older and kinder to myself, I’ve become kinder to my skin too. I stick to the same products because they really work. I drink lots of water, and I never skip sunscreen! When it comes to makeup, I use very few products. I’m not trying to make a statement, I’m just not great at it. I'm in awe of people who know how to do a full look, but I'm too lazy to learn now! That’s why I stick to a handful of clean products that are easy to use and always make me look more awake, happy, and healthy.

To be honest, recommending books is the main reason why I joined Benable! I love thoughtful, non-fiction essays on art and culture and intimate, well-written biographies, especially when they explore less conventional perspectives and stay with you long after you’ve finished reading.
