I love visiting NYC, and one of my favorite parts is trying different coffee shops. After four trips, I have recommendations for where to go and what to order on your next visit to the city!

Mainly spots in Harlem, the West Village + Upper West Side, but there are coffee shops throughout Manhattan on this list!

The Einspanner is one of my favorite coffees I've had in NYC… ever. The espresso and frothy cream make for a creamy drink that isn't too sweet!

NBHD Brulee is a cozy coffee shop in Harlem with a great atmosphere + friendly staff. I recommend the cappuccino over the latte!

Hungry Llama in the West Village is known for their whipped honey latte, and I really enjoyed. The latte itself isn't sweet, so it's not an overwhelming sugary taste. Try the whipped honey on its own, then stir it into the latte for a sweet, frothy d...

Fellini Coffee has a few different locations, and they all have a very fun atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in an older, sophisticated flashback. I tried two drinks (the Fior di Pollen and the Dolce Vita), and I would 100% recommend the Dol...

ENLY's viral tiramisu latte is expensive but delicious. It's a very small shop, so don't expect to find a seat and sit for a few hours, but if you want a coffee that tastes like a dessert, this is your best bet.

Frenchy is a cute coffee shop + cafe in Spanish Harlem near Central Park, and I recommend grabbing a sandwich and latte to take with you for a picnic! The maple spice latte was delicious in the fall.

Culture Espresso has one of my favorite cappuccinos, but, and maybe most importantly, they have an amazing chocolate chip cookie.

Gregory's Coffee is a local chain, so I wouldn't recommend it over a single coffee shop, but it's great if you need to pop in for your caffeine fix. Their drinks are consistent and not overly sweet!

A cozy, comfy coffee shop with coffee + pastries inspired by Asian flavors. I went a few years ago and am still thinking of the coconut bun I had last time, and their seasonal coffee drinks are subtle but delicious.

You'll see plenty of people working and reading at Variety. It's a cozy coffee shop and their plain latte hits the spot for a caffeine fix or if you need a spot to get some work done.

Bushwick Grind is a sweet coffee shop with delicious (albeit very sweet) homemade syrups. I got their latte with their housemade brown sugar cinnamon syrup, and I'd recommend asking for it half sweet.
