Washer/Dryer Stacking
We have limited space in our laundry closet (about 8ft x 3ft). To optimize the space, stacking our washer and dryer is key. Here is everything we will be using to stack our washer and dryer.
This is the washing machine we have and I love it. It is a large capacity washing machine, which is great for a family and it is stackable!

Having two kids and living in Southern California where we get earthquakes, it definitely makes me nervous to have large and heavy appliances stacked high. I will be anchoring them to the wall. This is one option I am considering.
Walls & Decor
Since this is a laundry room that is mostly closed away, I really want to make it extra bold and fun. I'm planning on painting and wallpapering in the closet. The space is 18ft x 3ft so it wont take a lot to paint all the walls.
I really love this wall paper and I think it would look great in the small space.
I like the idea of a dark blue in the laundry room.

There is no natural light in our laundry closet but I love the idea of having some sort of greenery in there. An artificial plant might be a great solution.
Flooring
We currently have linoleum flooring that came with the house. Since this is a small space, I would love to experiment with peel and stick tiles in there. Its easy, affordable and hopefully it will look good. Here is everything I will need.
I like the marble look. These are an option I am considering.
I really like the simple look of these.
I'll use silicone caulk to seal the edges of the flooring. This is practical and helps create a seamless look.
Having a pair of strong scissors on hand to help cut the peel and stick flooring will make the task a lot easier.
A utility knife is also a must have in most home DIY projects.
Shelving Storage/Folding Station
Along the wall I would love to have 3-4 storage shelves, a laundry folding station and a hanging rod so I can fold the laundry in the closet and hide away the mess. These are some of the options I am considering.
Ikea is a great go-to for any home improvement DIY. These selves are exactly the length we need for our shelf wall. These are a great option that we are considering.
This is another great option for the floating storage shelves in our laundry closet. I really like the chunky look of these.
Ideally I would love to have a space to hang our shirts when folding our clothes in the laundry closet. An adjustable rod is great to ensure we get the perfect fit.
Ideally I would like to have a larger space to fold my clothes on top of. I have about 36"x20(ish)" to work with. My husband and I might need to completely build this one on our own but these are some tables that might work in that space.
This is a great blog on how to DIY floating shelves. I think I could apply these steps to making my own folding station with the dimensions of about 36"x24"
Using a shelfing bracket and a piece of wood cut to 36" x 24" is another easy option.
