I only ever take carry-on baggage when I travel (I hate taking hold baggage!) and these are the items I really can't live without. I also made a full blog post about this which you can read here: thattravel.co.uk/hand-luggage-tips-and-carry-on-essentials

Packing and Bags
You need a bag with lots of pockets and space that's soft and small enough to fit in the overhead lockers if you're flying! I love these brands for that
I use Mountain Warehouse packing cubes for my carry on baggage, as well as a foldable day bag and the bag itself. They're great because I can fit soooo many more clothes in than I would be able to otherwise, I honestly couldn't manage a trip without ...
Osprey are also really good for lightweight backpacks - they double up really nicely as hiking backpacks and day bags if you're walking around a city too.

Essentials
I'm actually a bit obsessed with SafetyWing Insurance! I love how easy they are to use (the policy wording is really easy to understand) and how responsive the team is. Their ethics are also great and I love how much they care about their customers
SafetyWing - Insurance for remote workers
World Nomads are also a great choice that I've used in the past - they have some really good ‘give back’ experiences too to local NGOs in some countries, which I think is really cool.

Monzo is great for avoiding fees when you bank, and they don't invest in fossil fuels. I find them really easy especially when travelling and would recommend them to anyone.
Monzo | Your New Favourite Bank
Also love Revolut bank for avoiding travel fees and they're another one who don't invest in fossil fuels at all!
Revolut
These are the best eco friendly earplugs, they use recycled ocean plastic and I think they work really well
Shop Earplugs - Happy Ears
I love their bluetooth in ear headphones, use them every day and the case is so compact!

Toiletries and Make Up
These are the best zero waste haircare products I've ever used, and they also have tablet based toothpaste which is great for lightweight packing. Really important note: the shampoo is not vegan (it contains milk) so if this is important to you then ...
My Green Routine: Luxury Sustainable Personal Care
DEET free bug spray and non-nano sunscreen, works brilliantly - I honestly prefer it to any DEET based spray I've ever used. I never get bitten when I use it.
Incognito Less Mosquito
Also great toiletries, including moisturiser - my only issue is that they are no longer available in the UK!
Ethique
Love their deodorant (and toothpaste, but it's liquid so not ideal for carry on!) - the deodorant is small so it's the perfect size for carry on
Life Supplies
Love all of their make up - they're refillable and vegan with minimal plastic, most of them are also solid
Zao makeup
Fluoride toothpaste tablets - they're great for carry on as they're not liquid, and they work really well.
