Rosemary Gladstar is one of the pioneers of modern herbalism and this book, like all of her others, is full of easy to use recipes that are accessible for most families and budding herbalists.

Another by Matthew Wood is a good book in my mind. I love his ability to weave the science and intuitive art of herbalism into one cohesive piece and this book is a legacy of his work.
The Earthwise Herbal, Volume I: Complete Guide
This is a great quick reference guide to so many herbs and I really used it a lot when I was first starting it out. It provides a great overview and clear colour photos to help with identification.
