I was stuck in a cycle of only reading business & self-improvement books and realized I wasn't reading anything…fun. Here are the books that brought some joy into reading for me. Now fun books take up about 70% of what I read in a year.
This one really started it all!! I was on a self-help reading slump for years and this got me into reading for fun.
A Court of Thorns and Roses Paperback Box Set (5 …
Probably now one of my favorite series. I've reread it at least once!
Fourth Wing
Heavy on the romantasy vibes- only one book out for now, but so worth it!
Quicksilver (Fae & Alchemy, #1) by Callie Hart
Read this for a bookclub and wow. Listen to the audiobook if you can!
Lights Out (Into Darkness, #1) by Navessa Allen
Very inspiring & a fun read :)
Be Ready When the Luck Happens: A Memoir
Such a sweet story. Read this in a day :)
The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center - Goodreads
This was a little hard for me to get into at first, but is easy to see why it's a cult favorite. It sort of jumps through timelines which can feel hard to follow, but once you get into it- it's hard to put down. Beautiful read!!
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue
Part of a 5 (and counting…) book series. If you ever read Twilight when you were younger…you'll LOVE this! Not at all related to Twilight- but there's definitely a pipeline between tween Twilight girlies to adult ACOTAR girlies.
A Court of Thorns and Roses
I wish I could read more and more of this book. I read it prior to watching the show & the book is way better. I sort of felt a slight plot twist in the end that I wasn't expecting. Very cool read that seems to be loosely inspired by Fleetwood Ma...
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
This feels a little funny to be on here, but this definitely got me into more of the businessy sorts of books. It felt very motivating for 20-something year old me to read and I went on to earn a lot of money year 1 of my business.
You Are a Badass at Making Money: Wealth Mindset
Okay I think I read this book in a day maybe? I remember renting it on Kindle Unlimited and staying up throughout the night because I couldn't put it down. This was my first Freida read and got me more into the mystery/thriller type of books. Sad to ...
The Housemaid: Addictive Psychological Thriller
Worth the read and highly recommended. I almost put this down 10% in because of the lead's POV, BUT it definitely got better and I felt rewarded in the end.
Good Material by Dolly Alderton
Kind of predictable but so cute? This was my first delve into the beachy-reads sort of genre. Super light, a lil romance and a speedy read.
Funny Story by Emily Henry
Okay I read the first 100 pages of this book 3 separate times, but I pushed through and was so glad I did. This is book one of a 3 part series (maybe and counting?) and is related to ACOTAR. You can definitely read them sans ACOTAR though.
Crescent City
One of my favorite reads for anyone in a creative sort of profession. Reads more like a picture book. Very fun read in the moment, but I didn't find myself picking it back up. The notion of always giving credit for your inspiration has stuck with me ...
