Kids Basics Edit
Kids' wardrobes don't need to be purchased all at once. They grow, the weather changes, their tastes change, and what they actually need becomes much clearer as the season unfolds. I use back-to-school as a natural time to take stock and refresh the basics, replacing what they've outgrown, worn out, stained beyond saving or simply need more of. But the same reset can happen anytime there's a growth spurt or real life takes its toll on their clothes. I start with a solid foundation of dependable basics in their current size, the everyday tees, pants, simple layers, dressier pieces, shoes and other workhorses they'll reach for again and again. I selectively size up where it makes sense, but I don't try to predict and purchase an entire season's wardrobe months in advance. From there, we add small, intentionally curated wardrobe modules throughout the year. Each one works with these basics and builds on what they already own, while adding the seasonal pieces, personality and newness that keep getting dressed fun. The goal isn't to own as little as possible. It's to buy more intentionally, make everything work harder together, and build a wardrobe that evolves with your kid. This is the foundation.
