They Had Me At Hello… The Romantasy Books You’ll Love

Purple Star emoji 16 items
Welcome to my romantasy book list. You know those books that you feel like maybe you shouldn't love, but you do? The ones that make you feel a little bit self-conscious. This is that list. These are the can't-put-it-down books I got lost in until 2am...

The Empyrean Series

Written by Rebecca Yarros, The Empyrean Series was my first foray into Romantasy. A friend recommended it and I was skeptical. I didn't know what to expect and then I got to that first part (you know the one, or you'll find out!) and then I was hooke...

A friend recommended this one and I wasn't sure what to think. Until I started. I was instantly hooked and immediately invested in the characters. Finished and pre-ordered the second!
Fourth Wing (Standard Edition) (The Empyrean, 1)

The author does an amazing job of continuing the story in this one. The characters and storylines get further development but there is enough new stuff to keep you engaged and coming back for more!
Iron Flame (Standard Edition) (The Empyrean, 2)

Cliffhanger warning! I still don't know when the next book is coming out, but this one was so emotionally draining (in a good way) that I plan to pre-order that one too.
Onyx Storm (Wing and Claw Collection, 3)

ACOTAR Series

Blending faeries, and high lords, and humans and all the things, this Romantasy series is probably my favorite! And there's already a new book planned, so get started!

If I'm totally honest, this one took me the first third of it to really get into. There is a good amount of development in the story, but once we got past the bulk of that, I could not put it down! It went in my bag wherever I did!
A Court of Thorns and Roses

I couldn't put this one down! As soon as I finished the first book, I immediately bought this one and then didn't look up for 2 days. My husband thought I was crazy :)
A Court of Mist and Fury | ACOTAR Series Book 2

The course of true love never did run smooth, but they'll figure it out in the end :) Love this one and what a great continuation of the story, with further character and plotline development and just good old fashioned romantic fun!
A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns #3)

A sweet little vignette of a story. If you do like to see the characters ‘IRL’ this one will be for you. It doesn't move the story along at all, it just gives you more to love and more background about your favorite characters.
A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOTAR 4)

Maas flips the script on this one and pulls some alternate main characters out (not to worry, your other favorites are still there). It's a fun way to see a new side of the story and flesh out other characters!
A Court of Silver Flames (A Court of Thorns and Roses 5)

The Reform & Rebirth Series

I had never heard of this series (technically to be 3 series that are linked together) before a friend on our PTA mentioned the author. She raved about it and so, of course, I had to give it a whirl. Let's just say that I finished Conform in about 3 ...

What a great book from a new author. I had never heard of her, but now she's on my must-read list. The story is unique, dramatic, there's a love triangle, what more could you want?
Conform: A Novel (The Reform Series)

A bit dystopian, this one is equally as good as the first. A new set of characters that are likeable and fun but have depth. And, of course, a will-they, won't-they love story :)
Beneath: A Novel (The Rebirth Series)

Next On My Reading List

My list is ever expanding and these are the ones that I have either been waiting/wanting to read or been highly recommended to me by friends who are as obsessed as I am!
