This was the hotel we stayed at in Key West and we loved it! It is in a quieter part of town away from the busy downtown area, it's affordable, and it has an on-site restaurant, a nice pool, ocean views, free hot breakfast, and is within walking dist...
Hampton Inn Key West
An enjoyable public beach in Key West with easy access, plenty of space, and bathrooms available. They clean the beach regularly as well.
Smathers Beach
Another great public beach in Key West that is a bit smaller than Smathers Beach but has picnic tables set up in the trees and a concession stand.
Straw Hat Beach
Great place to visit if you like historical places, Fort Zachary Taylor has some interesting views and the battery with the restored cannons makes for great photos.
Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park
We didn't have time to get to this beach, but we saw it when we were at the West Martello tower (which is right next to this beach) and it looked nice. This beach is also near Rest beach and they have nearby parks, shade trees, and piers, so they are...
Clarence S. Higgs Memorial Beach park | Monroe County, FL
Very busy place, but a beautiful home and grounds to visit!
The Hemingway Home and Museum
The Key West Lighthouse is a nice place to visit and get great views of Key West. You can climb the stairs to the top of the lighthouse (the stairs are pretty narrow FYI) and see the island. This lighthouse is much smaller than the St. Augutine Light...
Key West Lighthouse & Keeper's Quarters
We did this trip and it went well, except for multiple people getting seasick. If you are prone to getting seasick from the boat ride or the snorkeling, skip their light breakfast (muffins and cereal) and stick to drinks. They offer unlimited drinks ...
Key West Snorkeling with Breakfast and Unlimited Mimosas - with Reviews
This is a beautiful place to relax and explore if you love historic spaces and gardens. The West Martello Tower is an old Civil War era fort that was made into a beautiful garden that is run by volunteers from the local garden club.
Key West Garden Club at West Martello Tower
Sadly we didn't make it to tour this fort and museum (which is a pair with the West Martello Tower), but this was super close to our hotel and the next time we visit, this will be on our list!
Fort East Martello Museum
This is a fun place to visit if you love butterflies and gardens! It is pretty busy, but still worth a visit, you can see the pair of flamingos and all kinds of plants, flowers, and butterflies. Your entry price is for the whole day, so you can come ...
The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory
We had lunch one day since we love poke bowls and it was fresh and delicious, and the staff were very nice.
Key West Poké House - Poke Restaurant
This is a delicious place for authentic Cuban food. They use a lot of real butter, but they can accommodate if you need food cooked without real butter or dairy (I would not go if you have severe dairy allergies however since there is a high chance o...
El Siboney Restaurant
This old U.S. Coast Guard building now houses shops with cafes and art studios, as well as a cooking school. They have clean bathrooms and it's great to see the historical building being used vs demolished.
The Shops at Mallory Square
If you love historic homes and beautiful streets, take a walk down Emma Avenue in the Truman Annex. It's a nice walk in the neighborhood, but they ask that vehicle traffic is only from residents and guests to keep traffic down in the neighborhood.
Truman Annex
If you want to get a photo with the Southernmost Point buoy, make sure you go early or late or the line is pretty long. We went in the evening so we didn't have to wait in line too long.
