In 2018, I studied abroad in Salamanca for two months. I've compiled a list of tourist and not-so-touristy things to do if you find yourself in this magical city!

One of my favorite things to do was to sit and take in the beautiful architecture in the Plaza Mayor while drinking a tinto de verano.

The university (the second oldest in Europe) is worth checking out - see if you can find the frog on the main building!
Head Over To The Universidad de Salamanca
Climb up the tower to the Old Cathedral viewpoint to get a grand view of the city!

Take a moment to admire the mural, and try to find the astronaut before checking out the inside!

Next up, admire the House of the Shells - it has over 300 shells to decorate the building, and the inside is a library!
Take In Conchas Palace in Salamanca
This art museum has beautiful stained glass windows and art pieces dating back to the second world war. You can also grab a cappucino in the coffee shop before you leave!
Visit The Museo Art Nouveau y Art Déco Casa Lis
Take in the towers from the outside of the building or climb the tower for beautiful views!
Sight See at Iglesia De La Clerecía
This bridge has 26 arches with 15 remaining from the Roman construction and connects to the old city!
Cross The Puente Romano
The Convento de San Esteban is a Dominican monastery with cloisters, a staircase, and alter.

Head to the Old Library in the University of Salamanca to see the beautiful mural of the Sky of Salamanca.

The Palace takes you through the family life of the Albi's, who had extremely fine taste when it was built!
Stroll Through Monterrey Palace
While you can't go inside since it's a government building, Torre de Clavero is breathtaking to admire from outside!
Gaze Up At The Tower of Clavero
This is the oldest operating market in the city! You can find the best produce around here.
Try New Food At Mercado Central Salamanca
This 8-square-foot garden overlooks the Old Town of Salamanca and is nice to relax in. It's based on the old tragic comedy “Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea,” somewhat of a Romeo, Juliet story.
Walk Through The Huerto de Calisto and Melibea Garden
This is a hidden gem I found on my own. this tower is open to the public and has panoramic views of the city from the top!
Get a Panoramic View From The Marquis of Villena Tower
This was my favorite park to stroll and relax in after class, and its only a 5 minute walk from downtown!
Relax In Parque de los Jesuitas
A great way to explore the city and surroundings is renting a bike!
