New to Marin County, a staple for breads and pastries.

Not technically a breakfast joint, but I don't judge. Jelly Donuts is the place to get freshly made donuts in the North Bay. The owner is super nice and the donuts are fresh, not greasy and she does a great assortment box. Support this local treasure tucked in the center court of Northgate One in Terra Linda.
Jelly Donuts
There is typically a line on weekends, but it moves fast and is worth it. A no frills place to get some of the best bagels in the north bay.
Barton's Bagels
Located on a corner in Fairfax, this eatery serves a good breakfast. A little on the creative side. After breakfast, take a walk around the cute neighborhood.
Barefoot Cafe
This restaurant has been around for awhile. Parking is easy in the adjacent lot. It has a more cavernous feel due to the high ceilings. Food is tasty.
Half Day Cafe
Large portions and menu selections. The staff is efficient and pleasant. An older crowd but they know where the good food is. Lots of parking and convenient to get to from the freeway.

Novato
A longtime favorite for a great breakfast spot. Score a coveted seat at the counter and watch the owner make your breakfast. Pro tip: substitute a fluffy pancake for your toast. Check out the poster on the wall by the coffee machine. Closed on Monda...
Marvin's Breakfast Club
Rustic has several locations in Marin County. Always reliable and good quality pastries. The ginger scone and almon croissants are especially note worthy. Even the Pope liked their products. Check hours but typically closes around 3 pm. Street parki...
Rustic Bakery
Another favorite restaurant and bakery. Known for their princess cakes they have really elevated their menu for breakfast and lunch offerings. Just behind the restaurant is the library. After checking out their books, the kids would walk across the little bridge to Creekside for their sprinkle cookie.
Creekside Bakery
This is a great restaurant to check out. The owner is very detailed and a big community sponsor. Go and support them.
Bacon
This location is the newest be in Novato. The original one on Grant Ave is great for locals. But this one on Nave in a stir mall is closer to the freeway if you want a place to grab and go up to the Wine Country. Check hours but the typically close ...
Rustic Bakery
Nugget is a smaller market than a Safeway but they are part of a chain out of Sacramento and are more upscale. They have checkers and baggers. They have a full deli with a hot bar, sushi, salad bar, bakery, espresso and prepared meals to go. They do ...

Just a Wee Bit Further
Just north of Novato in Petaluma is Sax's Joint. While not in Marin County, it is worth the drive if you want a giant breakfast served up by sweet and sassy gals. Their giant pancake served on a pizza pan is worth getting at least once. Watch them package the leftovers!
