Do you love the great outdoors? Whether it is tent, camping or camping in a travel trailer, I love to camp. Here are a few of my favorite places that I have been.
The Outer Banks is a wonderful place to visit! This KOA has a dog park and kid friendly vibe. It is in the heart of everything.
This is about 30 minutes away from the Gulf Shores area. It is very clean campground and I stayed in one of the tiny cabins. It was an excellent stay.
Jellystone Park™ Gulf Coast
This is directly behind Dollywood. It is just down the road from KOA. It is a really good place to stay in. The small cabins are a great deal! I rented a golf cart and it was a lot of fun.
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resorts| Family Camping Fun
This is a really nice park. Lots of water and a well kept beach!!!
Brookville Lake - DNR: State Parks
I grew up here! The scenery and trails are amazing!!!
Red River Gorge
Another KY gem!!! Lots of trails and two amazing campgrounds! Also check out Miguel’s Pizza!
Explore | Natural Bridge State Resort Park
Almost like being at the beach. Book in advance! This place is popular. Also a short trip to Chicago!!!
Indiana Dunes National Park
Take the ferry over and camp out on the Atlantic Ocean!!!
Ocracoke Campground, Cape Hatteras National Seashore
Don’t sleep on camping in Indiana. This is a little gem with waterfalls!
Clifty Falls State Park
Great fishing lake! Camp traditional or front a floating cabin! Some wine cruises at night as well!
Patoka Lake, IN - Indiana Department of Natural Resources
This is one of the nicer KOA’s that I have stayed at. If you’ve never stayed out of KOA before, you definitely need to check them out. They have all the major conveniences and are all over the US.
Virginia Beach, Virginia Campground | Virginia Beach KOA Holiday
If you’re not using a travel trailer or an RV, you definitely need to invest in an instant tent. They aren’t lying when they say that it takes one to three minutes to set up. I personally love tent camping, and use an instant tent.
Instant Tents
If you’re camping without electricity, I definitely suggest this fan. It holds the charge for a good while and there’s nothing like a little breeze in a hot camp.
