Westwood is a great walk. Around 6 km and a majority of it is treed, this makes it a great walk in all weather. It's busy in the summer as beach goers tan on the beach. Great place to walk dogs too.
Westwood Lake
Mount Benson is one of those hikes that you HAVE to do at least once. It's a gruelling uphill hike, scaling rocks & walking on gravel trails. So many look out spots though. If you're lucky, when you reach the top, you can feed Whiskey Jacks right...

Such a lovely walk out here. Approx 5-6 km return and it doesn't disappoint ! This trail is right next to the ocean, so there's a good chance you'll spot something.
Jack Point and Biggs Park
This trail is uphill as well but not too long of a hike, and not especially gruelling. When you arrive, you'll be greeted by a "heart shaped" lake and you can take a swim!
Heart Lake Trail
The E&N trail is perfect for walking & running but also being on your bike or board. Pretty flat, so biking with your kids is also an option.
E&N Trail
A pretty place to check out. A little bit of a walk coming into it. A few different access points. Beautiful in all seasons
Ammonite Falls
Such a beautiful trail to walk on. Big & beautiful trees. A must do if you're in the area!
Rainforest Trail
Stunning walk with all kinds of different views to see. Great place to walk your doggo .
Seal Bay Regional Nature Park
Love this walk! Pretty trees, rivers. Perfect in Autumn!

A wonderful place to walk. Not too difficult and easily accessible. This will become a fave for sure.

The views from here are epic! Near Nanaimo and not a super long hike. A bit of a climb in some places.
