Split Apple Rock. A cool destination to check out when you are visiting Tasman bay. Up towards Kaiteriteri, it's basically a huge rock that looks like it's been cut in half. A must visit if you are in the area and best seen at low tide.

Lake Tekapo. Just the prettiest coloured lake you'll ever see. The town is small but the lake makes up for it. Probably one of the most photographed churches resides here too. Bonus points if you visit when the lupins are in bloom.

Akaroa- approx 1.5 hours from Christchurch. Akaroa is a unique locale as it's one of the oldest heritage towns on South Island. Perfect place for fish & chips too.

Bluff. A cool little place and is on southern most tip of South Island of New Zealand. Best place to find sea glass too. Great seafood and where you can arrange to go cage diving with sharks!
