Another one I never take off. The chunky dome shape is the rare ring that works alone or stacked, and there's nothing to catch or lose. Size up a half if you're between — the wide band runs snug and your fingers swell in Miami heat.

Where I go for layering pieces I'm not precious about. Gold vermeil over recycled silver, so it holds up to sweat and pool at a fraction of solid-gold pricing. Buy two different lengths so they don't tangle — I learned that the annoying way.

It literally screws shut, so it never comes off. The big one, and I'm including it because people ask — it's the piece you buy once. Get sized in store, not online. Too loose and it slides over your wrist bone and drives you mad.

This one goes in the beach bag rather than on me. Folds down to nothing, wipes clean, and holds an absurd amount — it's my airport tote, my beach tote, and the bag I fold into my carry-on for the trip home.

Vegan leather, so Miami humidity doesn't wreck it, and the double handles mean it works as a shoulder bag or a crossbody. Get the medium — the small is cute but you can't fit a water bottle, which defeats the point here.

Their solid gold line is the sweet spot between Quince and Mejuri on price, and it stays on in the ocean. The clasps are the sturdiest of anything here — I've never had one come undone in the water, which I can't say for everything.

Plated rather than solid, so these are the statement pair rather than the everyday one — they come off before the pool. Sculptural shapes that photograph beautifully, and they'll last years if you keep them dry.
Jenny Bird Gold Earrings
The trend pair to the Ray-Ban's classic, and another thing I take off near water. Oversized shapes at a third of the price, so I'm not devastated when a pair ends up at the bottom of a pool. Where I experiment before committing to a shape.
