Tylenol is not the go-to for inflammation, but if you are in pain even after you took Ibuprofen (Motrin) then you can add some Acetaminophen (Tylenol) for pain relief. Consult your doctor first, as always, but both can be taken together if you need.

Compression
I LOVE this ankle support. It comes with a sleeve for compression and a wrap to make sure that your ankle is as stable as possible. It is a little thicker if you add the wrap, so choose footwear accordingly.
Sleeve Stars Ankle Brace for Sprain Relief
This is another option for compression. There is no sleeve, but it does hold your ankle for stability. Downside is that it is thicker than the other option for compression so wearing shoes is slightly more complicated.

For those that don’t want to get a particular brace, you can use compression bandages and wrap any joint you need. Just make sure it is not too tight and not too lose.

This was the second kind of boot I was given for my ankle. It provides more stability for me because it has a plastic piece on the top of the boot as well, as opposed to the black boot which doesn’t. It’s also much lighter. I honestly like it better.

For those that need to stay off of their ankle, crutches are a must. Make sure you have someone show you how to use them so that you use the proper body mechanics.
