Great brand with some various pencil hardnesses
Faber-Castell® 9000 Graphite 6 Pencil Tin Set
One of my favorite mechanical pencils - has a thicker lead
Staedtler® Mars® Technico 780 Leadholder
Sharpener for the Staedler pencil. Watch a YouTube video on how to use it
Staedtler® Mars® Rotary Lead Sharpener
Very versatile eraser that's fun to mold into different shapes
General's® Jumbo Kneaded Rubber Eraser
Works great for larger areas compared to the kneaded eraser
Staedtler® Mars® Plastic Eraser
I like to cut these into triangles to keep a hard eraser edge
Paper Mate® Pink Pearl® Erasers
Must have for fine detail erasing
Tombow Mono Zero Round Eraser & Refill Value Pack
If you get the wood pencils, you'll need a sharpener
Staedtler® Round Double-Hole Sharpener with Tub
Inexpensive sketchbook with some slight texture. I usually have a couple of these on hand.
Necessities™ Sketching Pad by Artist's Loft™, 9" x 12"
Great start for when you're ready to play with ink
Pigma® Micron® Fine Line Black 6 Piece Pen Set
Optional, but helpful for blending pencil
Blending Tortillons by Artist's Loft
Nice storage option to keep all your stuff
Wrapables Large Capacity Pencil Case, Expandable ...
Beginners should probably stay away from color, but color is fun, so this is a good option to get started
Tombow Primary Palette Dual Brush Pen Set
Nice travel size; thicker paper for ink and marker
Moleskine Sketchbook - Black, Pocket, 5-1/2" x 3-1/2"
To help you learn the ink fundamentals
