Ok, ok, I KNOW this is a doorstop of a book, but it's worth it. The world building is incredible, the characters are unforgettable - and when you finish this epic, there are more equally fantastic books in the series to pull you back in!
The Pillars of the Earth (Kingsbridge Series #1) by Ken Follett
Ove will win you over and warm your heart.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
Sure, it's Harry Styles fan fiction, but it's GOOD with surprising depth - who doesn't want to be swept off their feet by a rockstar? (Fair warning: it gets *spicy*)
The Idea of You: A Novel by Robinne Lee
The first in the Sigma Force series by James Rollins. I'm obsessed with this series - this introduces Sigma Force, a secret branch of operatives that investigate historical mysteries and repeatedly save the world from certain destruction. These are f...
Sandstorm (Sigma Force Series #1) by James Rollins
By the same author as “The Martian," this story takes us back into space. Charming, unforgettable characters mixed in with fascinating science.
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
You'll never look an an octopus the same way again.
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
Another fantasy/sci-fi pick, but don't let that scare you off! This book includes my fave ‘magical school’ trope, builds a fascinating world, and leaves on a cliffhanger that has me anxious for the next book in the series to come out later this year!
The Will of the Many by James Islington
Jenny Colgan can do no wrong. I love all of her books, but the Mure series that this book kicks off is one of the best. In my next life, I'm going to live on a quaint, tiny island off the Scottish shore! A quick, cozy read.
The Cafe by the Sea: A Novel by Jenny Colgan
Do you love Survivor? Do you love Love Island? Do you love Big Brother? You will love this book!
Attached at the Hip: A Novel by Christine Riccio
Working in the tech space, there is endless talk of AI. This book explores what AI means for all of us in a really compelling, accessible way - I'm still thinking about it.
Culpability: A Novel by Bruce Holsinger
A fun, twisty thriller that will keep you on your toes - an interesting look into the world of tech and big money.
Dead Money: A Novel by Jakob Kerr
I didn't expect to love this trilogy as much as I did. Don Winslow takes us into the heart of a mob war, and the after effects that ripple through decades.
City on Fire: A Novel by Don Winslow
We finally get to learn Haymitch's story?! Yes, please! I will read as many Hunger Games novels as Suzanne Collins is willing to write.
Sunrise on the Reaping (A Hunger Games Novel)| Suzanne Collins
This might be nightmare inducing, but a look into how the world would response in real time to a nuclear threat is tremendously fascinating - I sped through this one!
Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen
This book left me with more questions than answers, but I was drawn in by the reality tv setting on a backdrop of a vaguely threatening outside world.
