You can visit inside the castle and see inner courtyard where they filmed some of the brutal scenes. Blackness also have a small gift shop and themed events on throughout the year. The castle is open all year.

The small historic village of Falkland was used as the filming location to represent Inverness in the 1940's and 1960's. Do you remember the scene where Claire and Frank arrive in Scotland for their honeymoon? You can also recreate the scene  where Jamie's ghost appears.
Falkland itself has a rich history and the palace was a favourite of Mary Queen of Scots. You can access the village from Edinburgh in around one hour.

Doune Castle is a small ruined castle near to Stirling was used as “Castle Leoch” the home to Clan Mackenzie. As you approach the ruins you will instantly recognise it. 
You can explore inside and learn about other well known films and tv shows that used it for filming, including  Monty Python and Game of Thrones. 
Historically, the castle dates back to the 13th century and is surrounded by magical forests. The castle is open all year round and I strongly suggest you purchase their audio tour, parts are narrated by Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser himself!).

The beautiful castle and gardens of Drummond are found in the rolling hills of Perthshire. The gardens were used in Outlander filming as the ornate gardens of the Palace of Versailles in France.
