Electrolytes are critical while running. I swear by SaltStick! Taking two chewable tables every 30ish minutes (every 3-4 miles) will help keep you appropriately hydrated. They have options with and without a hit of caffeine.

You’ll want to test a variety of gels to find the right texture/taste for you. I really like these Huma options. They aren’t too “gel-y,” if that makes sense. They go down easy and most flavors taste good.

Get a hydration vest with a BUILT IN water system. I don’t recommend options with spots for two water bottles instead. I find that they are awkward and uncomfortable against my chest.
No bottles on the boobs = win.
These are my absolute favorite running shoes. They are feather-light, so comfortable, and hold up well in rigorous training.
With that said, go to a running store for a free gait analysis, if possible. Get the shoes that work best for you.
