Demon Copperhead Audiobook by Barbara Kingsolver
You don't have to know Huckleberry Finn to read this book. It stands alone just fine. So much meaning in so many little things in this book. A perspective not told enough.
James (Pulitzer Prize Winner): A Novel
This reads like a book of short stories, each one compelling and powerful. But it's actually the lineage of two half-sisters who never meet. One a slave trader's wife. One a slave. So beautifully told.
