Countertop Appliances

KitchenAid and Ninja appliances are tried and true!

Valerie Curnutte profile picture
Every baker absolutely needs a KitchenAid stand mixer! My husband surprised me with this for one of our anniversaries and to this day it’s my favorite gift he’s ever given me!

I got this paddle attachment to use when making cookie dough. It scrapes the side of the mixer bowl with the flex edge so you don't have to manually do it with a silicone spatula constantly.

An electric hand mixer does the job for recipes that don't require the full tilt-head mixer.

This food processor chops and purees like a champ! You can even make pastry dough with the bladeless attachment.

Ingredient Prep

My favorite brands for ingredient prep tools are Babish, Gorilla Grip, Pyrex, and Cuisinart.

Valerie Curnutte profile picture
Babish is a YouTuber cook we avidly follow. His branded cookware and cutlery are top-notch! 100% worth the price. We use this knife set almost daily.

These are the best cutting boards out there! They’re durable, grippy, machine washable, and they prevent liquid from spilling onto your counter.

This is the closest thing I could find to the stainless steel set we have. The measuring spoons include 3/4 and 1/8 teaspoons, which the KitchenAid set doesn’t have. I also love the volume marks within each measuring cup.
Hudson Essentials Stainless Steel Measuring Cups & Spoons

I use my kitchen scale every time I bake! It’s way more accurate to weight your ingredients in grams than to use measuring cups. This is especially true when measuring flour.
Kalorik XL Silver Digital Kitchen Scale

Valerie Curnutte profile picture
I use this thermometer most when making bread, both to check the water temp before blooming the yeast and to check the internal temp of the loaf to make sure it’s done baking.

You don’t need a fancy electric citrus juicer. This one does the job just fine and is dishwasher-safe.

Swap parchment paper for these washable, durable silicone baking mats! Dexas mats are much more affordable than the Silpat brand but just as good, in my opinion.

Every baker needs a sturdy loaf dish! I recommend having two on hand. I prefer glass over nonstick metal pans because they’re easier to clean and you don’t have to worry about scraping the metal coating.

Pizza

Ooni pizza ovens and accessories are top-notch and totally worth the investment! We love baking homemade pizzas outdoors in summer.

Valerie Curnutte profile picture
This pizza oven is worth every penny! Oven pizzas pale in comparison to Ooni pizzas. An Ooni oven bakes an entire homemade pizza topped with precooked meat at high heat (I’m talking 900F) in less than 5 minutes! You just can’t replicate the same blis...

Ooni’s metal perforated pizza peel allows steam to escape and excess flour to fall away from the bottom of the pizza dough

A rocker cutter is the best way to slice homemade pizza. Regular wheel cutters tend to shred the toppings and make a bit of a mess.
