The cathedral has that wonderful, layered old-world feeling, and there's still plenty to see even while part of it is under construction. I'd go slowly here and let the details reveal themselves rather than rushing through.

Padja H tel & Spa is the one I'd keep in mind when the trip needs a little recovery time as well as sightseeing. It feels like a good match for a city break where you want to come back to a more soothing atmosphere.

The remparts are where Vannes really clicks for me: old fortifications, lively streets, and everyday city life all woven together. I'd happily come here even without a festival - the mix of history and modern Vannes is the whole charm.

hotel F1 Vannes is a practical choice when you want to keep the stay simple and put your energy into exploring the city. I'd choose it for an unfussy overnight stop or a road-trip base.

Look up at Vannes et sa Femme as you wander the narrow old-town streets - the carefully kept timber houses are such a lovely surprise. Around them, colourful fa ades, caf s, and shops make this one of my favourite places to simply meander.

Premiere Classe Vannes makes sense for a straightforward, budget-conscious stay without overcomplicating the trip. I'd pick it when the plan is to spend most of the day out discovering Vannes and return somewhere uncomplicated.

Camping Le Conleau is the pick I'd save for a more outdoorsy Vannes escape. The camping setup gives the trip a breezier, slower rhythm - ideal when you'd rather feel on holiday than merely be in town.

La Cohue is small enough not to feel overwhelming, but there's plenty to take in inside its beautiful historic setting. I especially like it as an afternoon art stop, with English translations making it easier to linger over the exhibits.

Kyriad Vannes Centre Ville is the sort of dependable city base I'd choose when convenience matters but I still want to be close to Vannes' character. It suits a classic weekend of wandering, eating, and returning easily after a long day.
