I started with a basic three-ring binder and it spiraled into the most organized thing I've ever owned. The trick was getting dividers with enough tabs to separate utilities, inventory, contacts, and timelines without everything blending together.

I lost a signed lease once because it got coffee-stained inside a folder. Sheet protectors sound boring until you realize they're the only thing standing between you and reprinting every important document you own.

Numbering boxes and matching them to an inventory list in my binder was the single smartest thing I did. Movers asked which box went where, I checked my list, and every room got the right stuff on the first try.

My brain cannot hold a moving timeline, a utility transfer schedule, and an address change list at the same time. Writing it all down in one place was the only reason we had electricity on night one.

Keys, flash drives, insurance cards, that random adapter you definitely need but can never find. I dedicated a whole pouch system inside my binder for the small stuff that always disappears mid-move.

The last 48 hours before a move are pure chaos. Having all the taping, labeling, and sealing supplies ready meant I wasn't sprinting to the store at 10pm the night before the truck showed up.
